SailPoint launches AI-powered application onboarding for enhanced identity security
Identity security company SailPont Technologies Inc. today launched a new artificial intelligence-powered application onboard capability to enable customers to integrate critical business applications seamlessly.
The new capability, offered as part of the SailPoint Identity Security Cloud, has been designed to simplify the process of integrating critical business applications. Through the automation of the onboarding process, SailPoint says, users gain faster time to value, critical security for business applications and can improve their user experience.
The solution seeks to address the issue wherein onboarding applications — and many organizations can have hundreds and even thousands of them — into an identity security solution can be costly and time-consuming, particularly if an organization lacks in-house personnel or technical expertise. SailPoint argues that the challenge has traditionally forced businesses to prioritize onboarding only their business-critical applications such as Salesforce Inc. or Workday Inc. while leaving the rest of their applications unmanaged or vulnerable to exposure.
The SailPoint application onboarding capability uses AI to automate the process, reducing the time required and complications that can arise with application onboarding. The AI automatically discovers applications, allowing administrators to easily choose the connection method from hundreds of options or obtain recommendations from the AI on which method to use and best practices to select and deploy.
Sailpoint application onboarding also generates AI-powered recommendations to help map identities to accounts to streamline the onboarding process and reduce the mapping time by up to 70% on average. The features, collectively, are said to free up information technology and security professionals to engage with more business-critical tasks.
“Manual application onboarding can be an arduous process for today’s businesses, sometimes taking weeks or even months to complete,” said Grady Summers, executive vice president of Product at SailPoint. “Our new capability is expected to allow customers to shorten that process to hours or days, enabling their business-critical applications to be brought safely under their identity security umbrella with a minimal investment of time or energy.”
SailPoint’s new application onboarding capability is being offered as part of its Identity Security Cloud Business and Business Plus at no extra cost to existing customers.
