Miro launches AI-powered Innovation Workspace to streamline team collaboration

Online collaborative whiteboard startup Miro today announced the launch of Innovation Workspace, a new artificial intelligence-powered platform that offers a flexible solution for teams to move ideas to outcomes more quickly.

The new Innovation Platform has been designed to meet the need for an end-to-end solution that facilitates the entire innovation process, from discovery, brainstorming and research, through to definition, synthesis and decision-making and then delivery and execution.

Miro argues that while existing solutions prioritize a document-first or task-first approach, its “canvas-first approach” differs by offering an inclusive and collaborative environment for seamless transactions between unstructured work such as ideation and structured work such as diagramming, documentation, task tracking and prototyping. Miro’s solution also provides support for multiple media formats and any file type, including those from popular productivity suites.

The Innovation Workspace brings teams together in one central platform to enhance collaboration and speed up decision-making. The service connects asynchronous and synchronous activities through intelligent widgets and features such as catch-up and video calls with the aim of making teamwork more interactive and seamless.

The service accelerates the transition between unstructured and structured work with AI-powered tools such as Miro Sidekicks, intelligent templates and a centralized hub for key tasks and assets. Using the service, teams can turn ideas into tangible outcomes quickly, including AI-powered prototyping for better customer feedback.

The new platform is also highly adaptable and integrates with over 150 popular workplace applications, including Adobe Express and Microsoft Copilot. Customizable workflows and tools allow teams to tailor their innovation processes without the need for coding skills.

Security is covered with Innovation Workspace, with the service working with Miro Enterprise Guard to allow organizations to classify and protect sensitive data, ensuring that key information is secured. Additional features like built-in data discovery and IP detection also keep innovation content safe throughout the process.

“A common challenge among most organizations is that work happens across too many tools, there are gaps in communication and there’s a lag time in decision making, “said co-founder and Chief Executive Andrey Khusid. “The Innovation Workspace is the first platform designed specifically to help teams navigate the twists and turns between the phases of the process and embrace creativity as a necessary and valuable part of innovation.”

Miro is a venture capital-back startup that has raised $476 million over four rounds, including a round of $400 million on a $17.5 billion valuation in January 2022. Investors include Iconiq Capital, Accel Partners LP, Atlassian, Dragoneer Investment Group, GIC Pte., Salesforce Ventures and Technology Crossover Ventures LP.
