DeepTempo exits stealth with AI-powered cybersecurity app on Snowflake Marketplace

Artificial intelligence-driven cybersecurity startup DeepTempo launched today with the release of Tempo, a deep learning-based Snowflake Inc.-native app that improves the detection of potential cyberattacks.

Making its debut at Snowflake’s annual Build developer conference and built as part of the Snowflake Native App Accelerator program, Tempo allows organizations to leverage AI-powered security capabilities directly within their Snowflake environment. The service maintains data privacy and compliance while also significantly enhancing the ability to detect and respond to evolving cyber threats.

The solution is based on a foundation Log Language Model — an AI model designed to analyze log data for detecting anomalies and identifying potential cyberthreats — that’s built and trained by DeepTempo. The methodology differs from large language models that are trained on gigabytes of language from the web and elsewhere by being pretrained using enormous quantities of log data.

Tempo detects anomalies in network traffic and provides additional context, such as matching attack patterns from the MITRE ATT&CK matrix, identifying potentially affected entities and other vital information needed by security operations teams for effective triage and response.

DeepTempo says customers will benefit from faster detection of attack indicators, including new and evolving threats. Additionally, with the service, users can optimize their security spending by running the DeepTempo software on their existing security data lakes.

“We are opening our early access program to allow organizations to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats by using our purpose-built AI to detect and respond to threats faster than ever before,” Evan Powell, founder and chief executive of DeepTempo, said in a statement. “Also, by making available our AI-driven security solution as a Snowflake Native App, we are able to leverage Snowflake’s high availability and disaster recovery along with their security reviews and controls.”

Tarik Dwiek, head of technology alliances at Snowflake, added that “bringing DeepTempo into the Snowflake ecosystem provides our customers with even more choice when it comes to building their network and building applications securely in the AI Data Cloud.”
