Rocketlane bags $60M from investors to accelerate professional services automation with AI agents

Professional services automation startup Rocketlane Corp. said today it has raised $60 million in a new round of funding to accelerate the delivery of enterprise-grade artificial intelligence tools.

The Series round was led by Insight Partners and brings the company’s total amount raised to $105 million.

Rocketlane sells professional services automation that helps organizations to streamline the lifecycle of services projects. Whereas traditional PSA platforms are little more than glorified spreadsheets, helping managers to track billable hours, staff projects and manage budgets, Rocketlane goes further, focusing on the actual work that needs to be done.

The platform acts as a central hub for project management, document collaboration and communications between services providers and their clients. By consolidating these functions into one platform, the company says, teams can deliver projects faster and with greater transparency.

Having secured additional funding, Rocketlane has ambitions to expand its automation capabilities dramatically. Earlier this month, it unveiled a new “agentic execution” platform called Nitro that embeds AI agents directly into the services delivery process. The goal is to move beyond simply tracking work and start doing it on behalf of customers. To that end, Nitro includes a series of AI agents that specialize in performing manual tasks such as software configuration, integrations, technical documentation and testing.

Rocketlane co-founder and Chief Executive Srikrishnan Ganesan said today’s round validates the company’s vision of an “Outcome Era,” where investments in AI are judged by the tangible work they get done on behalf of humans and the savings they generate. This means that professional services teams, who are responsible for deploying, configuring and integrating AI with existing systems, have become the new “heroes” of the technology industry.

“Five years ago, SaaS was optimizing for product-led growth,” Ganesan said. “But implementing AI and driving adoption and outcomes in the enterprise has turned out to be harder. With Nitro, our goal is to give these heroes the superpowers they need to execute their work with radical efficiency.”

In other words, Rocketlane is using AI automation to speed up the delivery of new AI software in enterprises, and it believes it will be extremely helpful. Already, the Nitro platform has helped customers like Glean Technologies Inc. and Notion Labs Inc. reduce manual delivery effort by up to 50% in some projects.

Its AI agents also help to identify risks associated with new projects much faster than humans do, so teams can rebalance resources in real-time to counter them. “PSA was built to track work,” Ganesan said. “But the next generation of platforms will be built to execute it. That’s the category shift, and we’re driving it.”

One thing going for Rocketlane as it prepares to charge into the outcome era is momentum. It launched Nitro on the back of explosive growth, with revenue more than doubling in the last year and its average deal size increasing by 4.5 times, though it didn’t provide more specifics. The funding will help Rocketlane to accelerate the development of Nitro, design and integrate more AI agents and expand its global footprint.
