Likes and Check-ins Add Up to 2M Springpad Users

Springpad, the smart notebook app that helps you remember anything you come across when you need it most, has hit a milestone today, having saved 27 million products, books, movies, music, recipes, places and digital books as entered by its 2 million users. The number of users doubled from a million six months ago, and with a reported 150 percent accretion in engagement, the growth is also credited to features such as “Check-ins” and “likes” from Facebook.

Social networking is more than just sharing personal information. It also involves interacting with people and responding to movers as well. Springpad is in position to leverage this trend by enabling users to discover places, products and items recommended by friends, as well as including alerts for relevant news, price drops, product availability, coupons and offers, and then do something about them when they deem it fit (see more details here).

There currently are 5 million notebooks saved on the service, and they contain everything from recipes to travel plans, movies, books and products users want to buy. It’s always easy and handy for users to save, share and discover more with Springpad. It’s currently available for iPhone, iPad, Android and the web.

Their move to incorporate social networks, more notably Facebook, has been successful for a number of companies. Facebook’s Skype integration was a big hit in terms of consumer interest, significantly extending Skype’s reach in a global market.  Zynga’s also enjoying its success as it dwells within the Facebook platform, granting the game developer a great foundation even as it diversifies beyond the social network.
