Intel, Nutanix partner to accelerate business transformation, data center
With a stronghold on a niche market, Nutanix Inc.’s hyperconverged infrastructure technology has succeeded largely because of its ability to integrate so well with data center service providers. As the company looks to expand beyond its niche into more cloud-based environments, this partner ecosystem becomes a crucial component of Nutanix’s efforts to maintain momentum.
Hyperconverged solutions are especially favored in modern data management scenarios, as businesses across a myriad of sectors embrace the digital transformation. From manufacturing to agriculture, data has become an undeniable asset in need of vendor-agnostic processes.
“How do you start to use technology to solve business problems? That’s a big part of what Intel is helping companies do,” said Rachel Mushahwar (pictured, right), general manager and head of Americas industry sales at Intel Corp.
Mushahwar and her colleague, Jason Kimrey (pictured, left), managing director of Americas partner sales at Intel, spoke with Dave Vellante (@dvellante) and Stu Miniman (@stu), co-hosts of theCUBE, SiliconANGLE’s mobile livestreaming studio, during the Nutanix .NEXT conference in Washington, D.C. They spoke about digital transformation and how Intel is enabling this change for other companies. (* Disclosure below.)
Aiming for the digital transformation of business
Most major companies are trying to figure out the best ways to transform themselves through digital technology. But they must move quickly while doing so to meet customer expectations. To help businesses meet this demand, Intel plans to be a key enabler for digital strategies, according to Mushahwar.
Every industry is facing digital disruption, not just the tech world because data is at the heart of almost all businesses. Companies must use this data to address what customers are looking for in real-time, perhaps in a single interaction, Kimrey pointed out.
“We’re seeing incredible uses of technology, and it’s all centered around better use of data to transform their business,” he said.
Intel is supporting this new technology in several ways, one of which is re-imaging the data center. Another company, Nutanix, has pursued the same goal for some time. By partnering with Nutanix, Intel can bring silicon and other enabling technologies to Nutanix’s data center customers. Because of this support, those customers can move quickly on their own data transformation strategies, Kimrey stated.
As for Nutanix, it is also transforming the data center on its own. A big part of this is time-to-market. No company wants to blow a deal because they can’t deliver the product on time. With Nutanix, and now Intel, a business can build, certify and ship product in a much tighter window, Mushahwar stated.
Thanks to this reduced time-to-market, companies find it easier to keep up with the pace of innovation, she added.
