How To: Stay Abreast of What’s Important at #CES2010

image

Keeping abreast of what’s going on at CES this year (as any year) is difficult, even for me (and I have two helpers and a dozen or so folks on the ground feeding me information).

We have put together a number of resources here at SiliconANGLE that will help you continue to keep abreast of what’s going on today through the weekend.

You should bookmark this post for the duration of the conference and check back, as we’ll be adding what resources we continue to use to keep up on what’s going on.

RSS Feeds

Despite what Steve Gillmor would have you believe, RSS isn’t dead. Here’s a Google Reader bundle that will keep you in touch with what’s going on.  Included are our favorite feeds curated so that there’s a minimal of duplication and maximum amount of raw material to read up on (come directly to the site from your RSS reader, if it doesn’t show up).

Alternatively, here’s an OPML file, compatible with any RSS reader.

Video Feeds

We’ve compiled a list of video feeds this week that we’re watching. You can go here for the complete list, but here are the ones that Art and I have been watching the most:

Cali Lewis: She hasn’t yet been online today, but she had the most reliable stream of all yesterday’s press conferences.

CNet: CNet has had the most professional presentation of what’s going on so far, and hosts Molly and Tom have always been some of my favorite podcasters.

Crunchgear: The CG crew was the only crew broadcasting live for almost the entire day. They’ve been walking the floor approaching random PR folk and passers-by.

Leo Laporte: It’s been in re-runs of last night all day so far, but yesterday’s broadcast was pretty cool, with all the familiar faces you’ve come to love.

Conspicuously absent from this list? Gizmodo. They haven’t had their stream on yet, nor has USAToday. Live video on the web has come a long way, but Art and I both agree, all the event video coverage could have been done a whole lot better. No single network has been doing a particularly stellar job so far.

SiliconANGLE Resources

Art and I have been hanging out on our #CES2010 Twitter aggregator, where you can see updates from all our feet on the ground. Plenty of images, video and text flowing thru there. If you don’t want to sit on a web page, you can follow all the activity on Twitter.

Our CES category.  We’ve had a flood of video and text pieces, and our share of exclusives.  The last couple of days have brought record traffic to our site, so a big congratulations to our staff, and a big red flag to our audience that they need to pay attention – the important stuff will show up here!
