Windows 7 SP1 RTM Shows Up on Torrent Sites

So it’s official, well sort of – the Release to Manufacture (RTM) version of Windows 7 Service Pack 1 is out in the wild.

According to the Windows 8 Beta blog the RTM version; with the build string of 7601.17514.101119-1850, has hit the torrent sites. A simple search at any of the torrent search sites will return a list of the better known torrent sites, like Pirate Bay and isoHunt, that currently have links to the file.

Microsoft has already stated that there is nothing new in the way of major features included in the service pack but does contain over 625 bug fixes and hotfixes.

Personally I’ll wait for the ‘official’ release to hit Windows Update, and really, I would suggest you do the same

About Steven Hodson

In his own words, Steven Hodson is "just a cranky old fart who has been around the computer industry for more years than I can count." He doesn't like PR spin and "fanbois" irritates him to no end. While he is a Microsoft enthusiast, he is not an apologist, and has no qualms about giving leveling criticism where it's deserved.
