Hulu Plus on Xbox LIVE this Friday, First Week is Free

hulu-plus-xboxlive Like chocolate and peanut butter, Hulu and Xbox LIVE are great tastes that will go great together and they will be together this Friday. Starting April 29th, Hulu Plus is coming to Xbox LIVE and through a promotion the opening week will be free for XBL subscribers. The service, which offers streaming HD content of current TV shows and more, only costs $7.99 a month and already streams to a great deal of devices.

“Hulu Plus already has an excellent business model offering entire current seasons and more in HD on a cheap subscription model,” says Mark “Rizzn” Hopkins, SiliconANGLE’s Editor and Data Overlord. “With the addition of a network like Xbox LIVE, which already has a vast base of media consumers, it will tend to extend the reach of advertisers into a whole new audience.”

We’ve been waiting a little while for Hulu to finally make it to the Xbox, and it’s good to know that last year it exceeded expectations in total subscribers.

Fun factioid: The Hulu Plus app will integrate with Kinect controls meaning that you will be able to “tell” your TV what you want to watch and it’ll load it up for you.

After the subscription-free week, the $8/mo cost will kick in, but at least then the fun won’t go away.

Ladies and gentlemen, get your Xboxes in gear! The promotion runs from April 29 – May 6th.
