Foursquare Surpases 10M Members. Location Services Here to Stay?
The popular location based service Foursquare announced the 10,000,000 members mark today. This represents the importance how location awareness is reaching a massive audience. I’m a big fan of seeing a company grow. View the full infographic here.
And, to commemorate this pretty crazy occasion, we put together a little infographic. Be sure to click through to see it bigger; if you’re anything like us, watching the full-size animated map puts butterflies in your tummy. Thank you so much for supporting us!

It’s a crazy number to think about, because people aren’t necessarily checking into one venue per day. Some are check-in fanatics, while others try and make their homes a party spot in town. I don’t recommend this.
The value of location awareness goes beyond the top party house. What if someone was really looking for a Home Depot? You’d have to search through a ton of “party homes” to find it.
Businesses are thriving on this. One in particular is AJ Bombers, which is located in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Fantastic restaurant built from the ground up using Foursquare, Twitter, and many other channels.
