Keep Tabs on Little Trick-or-Treaters with PocketFinder

Free applications such as Google “Latitude” and Apple’s “Find My Friends” are designed to help users find friends.  But both have limited capabilities. Also, the two applications do not support a “stealth” feature for the finder.  Rather, the free finder applications work like a mirror – once you find someone, that someone can also locate you.

Changing the way we stay connected, encouraging the easy location of our assets, Location Based Technologies has launched its PocketFinder GPS Personal Locator device.  This tool will show the user know what’s going on, without the trouble of the “mirror” effect.

This PocketFinder device is very easy to use.  It can be slipped into a backpack, a purse, or in the car.  Once the device is securely in place, just load its application into any internet connected device and you’re all set.  You can zoom up to the street level to locate your friend, family member, or anybody you want to track.

In addition, with this PocketFinder Mapping Application, it can pinpoint the exact location within 10 feet.    The map is customizable enabling it to automatically send alerts if a device enters or leaves a defined area defined in the map.  Alerts are sent thru SMS texts, emails and push notifications.

The device will be available at the online Apple Store or Apple Retail Stores.

“Having our PocketFinder GPS Personal Locators sold by one of the world’s great retailers, Apple, is an honor as well as a strong statement about the superior performance and ease of use our customers are looking for in a location device,” stated Dave Morse, CEO of Location Based Technologies.

Though it is exclusively being sold at Apple Stores, it does not limit its use to Apple devices.  It can be used with any device as long as it is connected to the internet.

It is no doubt that tracking devices are very helpful.  These devices are also used to track our loved ones with special needs, such as those with autism and Alzheimer’s disease, allowing technology to bring a ray of hope and possibility.

The PocketFinder GPS Personal Locator costs $149 inclusive of 2 months service.  An ongoing connectivity charge costs another $12.95 per month for the user.
