Nimble Hires Ex-Salesforce to Lead R&D

Nimble announced that it has put Jason McDowal in charge of spearheading the development of its latest solution. McDowal is now the Director of Product for the startup, which offers a unique CRM solution that promises to deliver corporate users a much more connected platform.

Nimble’s SaaS covers social and collaboration elements designed to enhance overall productivity in addition to the functionality one would normally find in a solution by a more traditional vendor.  Nimble also emphasized mobile as a big focus and McDowal has been hired to flesh out its strategy in this space.

The former Salesforce executive held the position of Director of Product Management, Mobile at the company and has racked up a total of five years working for SaaS providers. His history in the mobile industry extends two years farther than that, encompassing to the popular app Chatter Mobile as head of development.

“While Jason will have broad responsibility for product at Nimble, one of the first initiatives will be to deliver Nimble Mobile,” said Gilles Marchand, Co-founder & VP, Product of Nimble. “Our customers are busy building their businesses, and to do so they need access to the power of Nimble whenever and wherever they are. This is why we are excited to announce our commitment to delivering the best of what Nimble offers to the most popular phones and tablets.”

Nimble’s growth into mobile will be powered by its recent $1 million funding round. Google Ventures and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban led the financing, while several other investors participated as well. Nimble has demonstrated its potential as a CRM platform and has already managed to amass a formidable user base, which the startup hopes to grow as it extends the solution for the sake of mobile workers.
