Leaks from sources within technology companies’ supply chains are a major source of information and rumors surrounding updated or new products. Apple, in particular, falls victim to these leaks on a regular basis.

On Thursday, two rumors reported to come via employees of Apple suppliers surfaced: The first pertains to the rumored Apple Watch 2, and the second focuses on the rumored iPhone 6s.

Apple Watch 2 may feature flexible OLED screen

Korean publication Naver/Digital Daily [Google Translate Link] (via 9to5Mac), claims Apple is in the process of sourcing flexible OLED screens from both Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and LG Electronics, Inc. for the next iteration of the Apple Watch.

Last month, a report by DisplayMate highlighted the poor outdoor screen visibility of the Apple Watch and Edition. These two models are fitted with sapphire screens, which although more expensive is also more reflective than the Ion-X Glass fitted to the Apple Watch Sport, leading to poor outdoor visibility on those two models.

According to the report, the Apple Watch 2 may have a bigger battery than its predecessor, as Apple is focused on thinning Watch components to free up space.

iPhone 6s with 12MP and 5MP camera combo

An employee of Taiwan-based Foxconn Technology Group, a long-time Apple supplier, allegedly posted details about the rumored iPhone 6s on Weibo. The post has since been removed, but PhoneArena grabbed a copy and shared it.

The document supposedly shows schematics of the iPhone 6s’ cameras and details a new 12-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel FaceTime camera. The rear camera is reportedly capable of 4K resolution, up from the 1080p resolution in current models.

The source of this “leak” is murky, but it does echo rumors from more reliable sources regarding the camera tech we can expect in the iPhone 6s.

Reputed KGI Securities’ analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has repeatedly said that the iPhone 6s will come equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera, and developer Hamza Sood discovered code in the first iOS 9 developer beta that adds support for a FaceTime camera with 1080p video capture, 240fps slo-mo video at 720p, a front-facing camera flash, and panoramic selfies.
