Black Friday week PC gaming hardware presale deals for the hardcore but frugal #BlackFriday2015
It’s that time of year again. People are about to roast turkeys too large for their ovens and, in an unexpected twist, giant crowds are going to crash against the doors of huge retail stores like the breaking front of a tidal wave. On the Internet, however, things are different and the tradition of Black Friday has begun to extend its deals earlier and earlier.
PC gamers have a lot to look forward to this week with a number of online retailers already putting out their banners boasting huge discounts. The obvious examples spring to mind such as Amazon.com, Inc. and Newgg.com, Inc. but it’s worth exploring both the retail tide pool as well as the hardcore hardware shelf.
Build-your-gaming-PC Black Friday week deals
If you want a new gaming PC, there’s a number of outlets that will build and ship one for you. The most famous, Dell, Inc. is already preparing for Black Friday with some awesome potential deals that start on November 26.
For example, ordinarily super-expensive Alienware gear will get a few percentage points shaved off with an Alienware 15 laptop starting at $1,119.99 (down from $1,499.99). For the desktop folks, the Alienware X51 will be cut to $1,249.99 (down from $1,649.99). These deals become available November 26 until November 28, 2015.
More discerning gamers have a tendency to look to shops that specifically build gaming PC rigs and it looks like a number of them are also presenting Black Friday deals already continue reading for news from CyberPower PC (CyberPower Inc.), ORIGIN PC Corporation, Velocity Micro (Velocity Holdings, LLC.) and iBuyPower Inc.
From the folks at CyberPower PC, Black Friday is a time to celebrate the week with daily timed price cuts. Be sure to visit CyberPower’s Black Friday deals page daily to see what’s currently on the price tag chopping block. Right now the hardware shop is offering a 5 percent instant rebate off any merchandise over $999 with the coupon code “BLACKFRIDAY”. All desktops ordered get a free Skorpion K1 mechanical keyboard, Sandisk orders get a free double SSD capacity upgrade up to 512GB, all laptop ordered get a free CM Storm Mizar mouse and any Nvidia GTX 980 order and above gets a $100 instant rebate. The deals continue with price cuts on PC gaming systems and gaming laptops as well.
The salescritters at Origin PC have a set of deals that continue until November 26 that work by way of upgrade bundles. What’s available for new PC and laptop orders is a free Corsair 120GB (or 240GB on select systems) SSD and/or free GPU overclocking as well as free Windows 7 or 8 Home Premium also on select systems.
Velocity Micro is ringing in the Black Friday week with instant coupons of $30 to $500, free ground shipping on all systems, free game bundles from Nvidia and Intel and t-shirt swag. Amid those deals the Signature 17” laptop—which uses desktop processors in a laptop chassis—gets an instant $500 off (starts at $2,699). The Raptor Z95 desktop, described as “a masterpiece,” gets $150 off instantly (starts at $2,129). More deals are available on the Velocity landing page.
iBUYPOWER appears to be putting on a Thanksgiving sale—forks and plates feature prominently in their marketing—of course, the dates of this sale seems to line up nicely with Black Friday so they’re probably not asking customers to eat their computers. Customers for gaming rigs can get 5 percent off any order $999 and up with the coupon code “thanksgiving”. The deals are also named after Thanksgiving with the Thanksgiving AMD FX-6 at $689 (was $859) or the Thanksgiving Intel Z97 bundle at $1,259 (was $1,649) and the Thanksgiving Intel X99 II bundle at $2,059 (was $2,499). Many of these deals include a free upgrade of better RAM, a bigger hard drive (sometimes 1TB to 2TB) and/or an upgrade from a DVDRW drive to an LG Blu-ray Re-writer.
Looking for a broad selection of quick-and-dirty systems on Black Friday presale? Newegg has a page for that featuring systems such as a Lenovo All-in-One Computer C40-30 for $519 or an iBUYPOWER Phantom Series desktop for $1,449.99.
Components, upgrade parts and gaming peripherals on sale
PC gamers often build their own rigs or seek to upgrade the ones that they own to extend the lifetime of their investment. As a result, some Black Friday hardware deals means components such as memory and hard drives going on sale.
Amazon currently has quite a few nice deals on otherwise expensive hardware that gamers might want to take a peek at. For example this Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler is currently $26.99 and a $5 post-purchase rebate. These SSD drives also make for some cool deals: the Samsung 850 EVO SSD 120 GB drive for $66.48, an OCZ Arc 100 SATA SSD 120 GB for $44.99 or a SanDisk SSD 240 GB for $59.99. Or go big at Tigerdirect.com with an OCZ Trion 100 Series SSD 960 GB for $319.99.
Looking for bigger and badder RAM? Newegg is holding a Black Friday presale on PC RAM such as G.SKILL TridentZ Series DDR4 3200 16GB for $129.99 or a whopping G.SKILL TridentZ Series DDR4 3400 32GB for $429.99. TigerDirect.com is also a good place to look for RAM and the site is running its own Black Friday presale with $25 off an order of $100 or more when using Visa Checkout along with some other deals available.
Finally, for those seeking PC gaming peripheral deals there’s Razer Inc.’s Back Friday VIP deals preview. Numerous peripherals get their prices cut using the “BFVIPUS” coupon code. Such as the Razer Classic Bundle—the Razer DeathAdder Classic + Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Classic + Razer Kraken 7.1 Classic + Razer Goliathus Control Medium—cut down to $189.99 (normally $189.99). Get a Razer BlackWidow keyboard for $79.99 (normally $99.99) or the tournament edition for $64.99 (normally 79.99). For headphones Razer is offering the Kraken Forged for $149.99 (normally $299.99) and the Adaro Wireless headphones for $99.99 (normally $149.99). As for a mice, Razer is offering the DeathAdder Classic for $49.99 (normally $59.99). Other deals are available that add free merchandize in lieu of discounts, so be sure to scan the entire page.
