

At the start of this week, Google Play announced its list of best Android apps and games for 2015. Today it is Apple’s turn with the unveiling of its annual Best of App Store lists. In addition to top picks for iPhone, iPad, and Mac apps, the company has also included editorial picks for watchOS and tvOS.
With well over a million apps in the App Store, competition is incredibly high, so making this list is not only a great feather in the cap for the app developers but will also help to boost the app substantially among the competition.
The complete Best of 2015 is on the landing page of each App Store. Below is a list of the winners and runner-ups from the U.S. App Store.
Topping the list as the best iPhone app for 2015 is Twitter-owned Periscope, with Enlight and Robinhood claiming the runner-up spots. The top game of the year accolade goes to Lara Croft GO, with Fallout Shelter and Mr Jump as runner-ups.
Apple has also featured special mentions for Workflow as the most innovative app for the year on iPhone while Dark Echo claims the most innovative game of 2015.
Instagram is the top app for the newly launched iPhone 6s while Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade tops the list as the best game for the device.
The best iPad app for 2015 goes to The Robot Factory, followed by HBO Now and Patterning. Prune claims the position as top iPad game for 2015, with runner-ups Rayman Adventures and Implosion.
The most innovative app goes to LiquidText, while the position for the most innovative game goes to Her Story.
Best app on the newly launched iPad Pro goes to uMake, while Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey tops the list for the device.
App of the year for Mac goes to Affinity Photo, with PDF Expert claiming the runner-up spot. Game of the year goes to Pillars of Eternity, followed by Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor.
The top app for 2015 for the Apple Watch is Dark Sky, while top game for the device goes to Rules!
HBO Now claims the position as the best app for Apple TV this year, while the top game is Rayman Adventures.
