Breaking a quiet spell since going private in 2014, Riverbed Technology Inc. reemerges with a fresh perspective on a classic problem – networking. The SD-WAN (software-defined, wide area network) company has been going through internal shifts, evolving Riverbed beyond its optimization roots. In the spirit of innovation, Riverbed hosts the Disrupt event this week in New York City to spark new thinking and uncover breakthrough technologies in today’s cloud-first era.
SiliconANGLE will be at Disrupt, live streaming keynotes and exclusive interviews from our roving news desk, theCUBE.
Penetrating the SaaS market requires agility and cooperative cloud solutions, presenting a unique challenge for enterprise networking. It’s one startups and legacies alike are trying to solve, according to Wikibon Senior Analyst & Principal Research Contributor Stu Miniman. For the established Riverbed, acquisitions is key to the company’s plan to stay relevant in a hybrid cloud environment. Bolstering its visibility to end-user devices and enhancing its digital management programs, Riverbed this year took in Aternity Inc. and Ocedo GmbH. We expect to hear more from Riverbed on its plans for growing its product pipeline around Ocedo in particular.
Keynote speakers at Riverbed Disrupt include senior executives from Riverbed, Microsoft and Palo Alto Networks Inc. who will discuss new approaches to networking and application performance. Speakers include Riverbed execs Jerry Kennelly, chief information officer; Hansang Bae, chief technical officer; and Subbu Iyer, chief marketing officer.
Other keynote speakers include Nir Zuk, chief technical officer at Palo Alto Networks; and Yousef Khalidi, corporate vice president of Azure at Microsoft.
