Rackspace Adding Windows Server in Cloud With Support from Microsoft

image Rackspace continues to advance their cloud offering today with announcing of support for Windows Servers images starting in 2010.

The Rackspace team has a long history of Microsoft support in their traditional dedicated servers with around 80% of their existing Windows workloads running on Windows Server 2003.  This move should make a lot of those customers happy and interested in moving some of those workloads to a more elastic and utility based environment as well as testing things out on WS 2008 very easily.

Continuing with their fanatical support mantra not only will Rackspace support both Windows Server 2003 & 2008, but customers will also be able receive support directly from Microsoft just as they would with dedicated or in-house service.

For those interested pricing will start at $0.04/hr for small instances, $1.08/hr for large ones and you can can sign up for the beta here.
