LivingSocial Acquires Urban Escape. Social Adventures, Here We Come!

Yet another acquisition brings more amazing opportunities for consumers. LivingSocial, a social shopping site has acquired Urban Escape, an adventure planning company. The details of this deal are not disclosed as of yet. But we can surely expect this deal to bring in new, fun and exciting experiences along with the already available amazing deals for the 10 million plus subscribers of LivingSocial. It extends LivingSocial’s expansion of its own site, which has recently spread to 25 more cities across the U.S.

This deal is in line with the Growth strategy of Urban Escape and Expansion Focus of LivingSocial. The management of both companies expressed their enthusiasm:

“By working closely with merchants in all of our markets, LivingSocial has helped thousands of people across the country experience fun and exciting things to do in their neighborhood,” said Tim O’Shaughnessy, CEO and Co-Founder of LivingSocial. “With the acquisition of Urban Escapes, we will now have the ability to help curate some amazing experiences and adventures exclusively for our members.”

“People who use LivingSocial are already looking for fun, new things to do in the area they live or where they’re visiting,” said Maia Josebachvili, founder and president of Urban Escapes. “We’re passionate about organizing experiences you could never arrange on your own and this acquisition is the perfect opportunity for us to expand these completely unique, guided experiences around the globe.”

Even the thought of fun gatherings and activities with new people is enough to liven up a monotonous day in the cubicle. And here we have an actual opportunity to experience it and that too from the premier deals finder. So, we can safely expect affordable prices. If you are already a SocialLiving subscriber, and have the spark of adventurism in you, then you better pack your gear get ready, as Urban Escape would be bringing on new offering on the SocialLiving platform by early November.
