Openfeint Booms on Android Platform

The Android platform is deemed to be the one who can level with Apple when it comes to mobile gaming, but it’s not kicking up games that are attractive enough. This has paved way for Openfeint to conquer the mobile games sector on the platform.

The first two weeks of Openfeint games on Android showed off some pretty good figures, with 4 out of 8 games on Android Market’s top 15 selling apps. Two of which, Fruit Ninja and MiniSquadron, has taken its place on the first and second ranks respectively. What’s more impressive is  that they took the first two positions only 72 hours prior to launching.

“The past two weeks have proved to us that Android users are hungry for great games – and they’re willing to pay for top quality content. Over the next few months, we’ll continue to roll out games and help establish the paid gaming market on Android,” said CEO Jason Citron of Aurora Feint, makers of OpenFeint. “We couldn’t be more excited about this latest Android release.”

Another batch of games arriving this week include Super KO Boxing 2, Touch Racing Nitro, Penalty World Challenge 2010, Cestos 2: Party Time, SpeedX, Babo Crash Deluxe, Brain Twister Lite, Color Cocktail Lite, DotDot and SkyForce.  All good news for Intel, which just threw $3 million at the growing game platform.
