VMware Acquires NeoAccel, Extends Partner Portfolio with Bitrix

VMware announced it has acquired NeoAccel, a California-based provider of computer network security products. The acquisition comes as a part of VMware’s strategy to expand and strengthen its offerings portfolio, and NeoAccel’s solutions – particularly the SSL VPN-Plus product line – support this agenda.

“NeoAccel’s solutions complement this strategy and offer several interesting integration opportunities. NeoAccel’s SSL VPN-Plus will add user VPN technology, which enables secure, high-performance access to cloud environments.”

The acquisition of NeoAccel and its future integration with VMware’s product portfolio is not the only piece of virtualization news for the company lately.  Virginia-based social communications company Bitrix announced the Bitrix Virtual Appliance 2.0, the first ready-to-use solution designed to run social collaboration and e-commerce applications in the most commonly used virtualization platforms including VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Parallels Virtuozzo and Amazon EC2.

Bitrix Virtual Appliance 2.0 can reportedly and consequently reduce up to 50% of application deployment and management costs. The open-source solution provides greater availability and shorter disaster recovery time, a secure sandbox for running apps, is compatible with free virtualization tools including VMware Player etc.

Vmware’s been steady on its acquisition of industry partners.  Here we take a look at VMware’s team-up with Amazon for the new cloud data importation VM Import service. Earlier, network solutions provider Nexus joined the Vblock partners echosystem and Compellent announced an enhanced partnership with VMware by adding Compellent Storage Center systems to the VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager package.
