Windows Phone 7 Mobile Apps Get Love Too

Digital marketplaces are cropping up all over the place, especially in the mobile sector.  An infographic by WP AppHab details the status of Windows Phone 7 from the app angle; all 8000+ of them. Paid apps have the largest share of the total figure at 725, while only 28% of all WP7 apps are free ones. There are currently at least 5855+ English-language apps, and second in line are the 632 French apps followed by 604 German apps, 452 Spanish ones and 412 Italian WP7 apps.

A look at the Windows Phone 7 app price range indicates that most apps are priced at $0.99. Second in line after $0.99 apps are free ones. In turn, 23% of all WP7 apps are games, providing the largest share after tools and entertainment applications.

On average social apps are the most expensive, topping the list at an average of $3.85 per download, but entertainments apps are yet again close behind as the second most expensive category – $2.2 on average. Overall, average Windows Phone 7 app pricing lands at $2.3 with a 2,736-member developer community with an average rating of 6.9/10.

Microsoft recently revealed its Windows Phone 7 sales figures for Q4 2010, and with 2 million units shipped, the mobile platform is on the rise. The company also had its earnings call not too long ago, and it announced the mobile aspects it intends to focus on as they move forward.
