Nimble announced it has hired Richard Young to oversee operations and sales in Europe. As the new director of EMEA, Young will be working out of a newly opened branch in the United Kingdom.
Nimble offers what it calls a new breed of CRM platforms, which fused the cloud together with a strong social element, as well as the traditional functionality that’s expected from such systems. The result has become very popular, based on the numbers the company disclosed. Since launching last year it gained over 30,000 users and 250 partners. About 9,000 of Nimble’s customers are based in Europe, along with a fifth of its partner base.
“Europe is a critical market for Nimble, demonstrated by the recent comScore reporting. Jon Ferrara, CEO, Nimble commented: “Over thirty of our customers are in Europe, and we have seen overwhelming demand. Richard will play a critical role in developing the company’s long-term growth strategy, strengthening relationships with solution partners, as well as solidifying our presence in key EMEA regions.”
Nimble is the latest cloud company that has decided to expand beyond its core market in the past couple of months. AppSense has also seen a strengthening demand coming from international customers, including ones in the Asia-Pacific region, and decided to open up three new local outlets to better serve those clients. AppSense is now headed to Brazil, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Yet another cloud company that decided to carry out some serious internal growth recently is Appcelerator. It hired three new executive, including two former Adobers and Doug Norton-Bilsby. He has been hired to be in charge of Appcelerator’s London office, which will act as the center of the firm’s EMEA strategy. Bilsby’s first task is to populate the outlet with new workers.
