Talend Announces Greenplum Integration @ EMC World
Talend announced a major big data push at the EMC World conference held this week. The company, which makes data integration and management software, has integrated its platform with the entire Greenplum portfolio: that includes Greenplum HD, Greenplum MR, the Unified Analytics Platform (UAP) and the Greenplum Database.
Big data has already caught on as a buzzword – now it’s all about the tools that empower organizations to be more efficient with their analytics strategy, and the solutions that make the data scientist’s job considerably easier.
The Talend Platform for Big Data is offered up as a sort of jack of all trades, addressing both these areas with visualization and a lot of automation. The open source set of tools is developer-centric thanks to elements such as drag and drop interfaces that increase productivity, while at the same time it also improves on things such as monitoring, parsing and other administrative tasks.
More importantly, the Talend Platform works with Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Pig and Sqoop, as well as practically any other environment that contain massive quantities of structured, unstructured, semi-structured and machine-generated data in need of analysis.
“The Talend-EMC Greenplum certification creates powerful solutions for companies seeking to leverage big data to create business value,” said Fabrice Bonan, co-founder and chief operating officer, Talend. “Organizations that choose to take advantage of Talend and Greenplum will be able to quickly benefit from the combination of market leading data integration technology with high-performance and enterprise-ready Hadoop solutions, removing the complexity from big data management and producing faster time-to-value.”
Talend’s entire business is based on open source software and integration – that model hasn’t disappointed so far. Vice president of marketing Yves de Montcheuil stopped by theCUBE at EMC World to discuss his take on data integration in the Era of Big Data.
