Druva Expands inSync into Collaboration and Data Protection Platform

Druva announced today its latest release of inSync Share, the inSync platform that integrates file sharing technology and enterprise collaboration with endpoint backup functionality. Without hindrances, the user can sync across multiple client devices. They can also share and collaborate with other users across a myriad of platforms, including Android, iOS, Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows.

One of the unique features of the inSync collaboration system is that it allows users to create peer-to-peer file sharing networks for their files, giving colleagues easy, remote access to anything they share. As users collaborate on documents, files are synchronized in both directions, keeping each user’s data up-to-date. Moreover, users also have the option of temporarily granting access to outside parties. When they finish their work, they can terminate that access.

With this latest update, Druva continues its ascent into the competitive world of enterprise cloud collaboration. Just last year it raised $12 million in Series B funding, drawing investments from Nexus Venture Partners and Sequoia Capital. The company asserts that its collaboration system is more robust than sharing tools like Dropbox, but also more user friendly than competing enterprise collaboration systems like Microsoft SharePoint.

After its last update earlier this year, inSync can now accommodate 10,000 users per server and can also integrate with third-party data systems, such as Microsoft Active Directory. Other features include 256-bit SSL and AES encryption, multi-server deployment, data loss prevention, and data analytics.

Druva estimates that its unified platform can save a company of 1,000 employees $2.91 million, simply by averting data loss. Druva currently serves over 1,250 customers and 900,000 endpoints spanning across 42 countries. Its inSync Share is currently still in beta but is available to customers starting at $4 per user per month.
