LIVE: The Developer Difference for Google I/O : Making the Case for Android

Updated with full video, see below:

On today’s SiliconANGLE Live NewsDesk Show, (see embed feed below or visit youtube.com/siliconangle to watch on-demand), we’ll be discussing Google I/O 2013, which kicks off tomorrow, and Google’s place in the booming mobile OS ecosystem.

A large focus of our coverage and today’s Live NewsDesk will shine light on Google’s place in the mobile ecosystem. Google’s Android platform has growing competition from Windows Phone and BlackBerry, and still lags behind Apple as far as developer preference goes. This year especially, Google I/O is an extremely important event for Google to make their appeal to the developer community. As we mentioned yesterday, Google’s decision to raise the limit on free storage from 5GB to 15GB, certainly falls in line with showing developers (and users) Google supports them.

For your Developers Guide to Google I/O 2013 Sessions, look no further – we’ve got you covered.

Joining us now to tell us more about Google’s place in the mobile ecosystem is Wikibon Senior Analyst, Stu Miniman. (See the live broadcast, embed below ~ if you missed today’s topic, check our YouTube channel for archived clips.)

Some of the things we’ll be discussing with Miniman include, the difference between a developer conference and a normal conference, Google’s play for Cloud and Big Data, the importance of Google’s increase of free storage for users, and the impact of Google Glass in the coming years.
