But lets get to the real meat and potatoes. Where can you trade-in your current iPhone for the best deal? And where can you pre-order the iPhone 5c… since you can’t pre-order the iPhone 5s?

5 Best Places to Trade-In Your Old iPhone

Buying a smartphone out of contract, from any carrier, costs an arm and a leg. (Though several carriers, like Sprint, are slowly starting to roll out whenever-trade-in options.) By trading your old device, you won’t have to pay full retail for a new smartphone, as the trade-in price could possibly cover the 2-year contract plan of some carriers. So in order to not eat all of the cost of buying out of contract to get the iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c, we’ve put together a quick hit list for you.

• Apple Stores

Some Apple retail stores already have trade-in programs in play, though the company is keeping it hush-hush for now. No news yet as to how much Apple will give you for your working, in good condition, 16GB iPhone 5, but there were reports that the highest price Apple can payout is $280. Again, this leaked information has not been confirmed yet.

• Gazelle

The price of a 16GB iPhone 5, whether it’s black or white, depends on the condition of your device as well as your network carrier. If you’re phone is working and is in good condition, you can get an average of $310 if you’re on AT&T, $200 on Sprint, $310 on Verizon, and $315 on T-Mobile.

• Walmart

Same as Gazelle, the price of the 16GB iPhone 5 depends on the carrier and the condition of your device. If you’re on AT&T you can get up to $315, $250 on Sprint, $300 on Verizon, and $315 on T-Mobile.

• Best Buy

If you’re with AT&T, your 16GB iPhone 5 is valued at $330 if it’s in good condition, $300 if you’re on Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile.

• Target

If your 16GB iPhone 5 powers on, is fully functional and doesn’t have a cracked screen, it is worth $315 if you’re on AT&T, $235 if you’re with Sprint, $320 if on Verizon, and $325 if you’re on T-Mobile.

Where can I pre-order the iPhone 5c and get my hands on one ASAP!!??!!??

As promised during Tuesday’s announcement, Apple will begin officially accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 5c on its online store as of 12:01am PT today, Friday, September 13th. You can choose to purchase either a white, yellow, pink, blue or green device, and get the 16GB for only $99, or the 32GB for $199, with a two year contract on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon. For T-Mobile subscribers, you can get the unlocked and contract-free iPhone 5c for $549 for the 16GB and $649 for the 32GB. The iPhone 5c pre-ordered from any of the four carriers will start shipping on September 20, 2013. If you wish further customization, you can also order colorful silicon microfiber cases for $29 each. Apple Fanboy’s have been camped out since Tuesday, too.

Carriers

If you don’t want to order directly from Apple, you have a few different options. Carrier or retail store are your two options. Here is the rundown:

• Sprint

Sprint wants your business. The $100 up-front cost is waived when you bring a line from another carrier.

• T-Mobile and AT&T

Both offer “pay over time” plans, so that you’re not eating all of the cost upfront.

• Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart will sell you an iPhone 5C on Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint for $79 on-contract.

• Best Buy and Radio Shack

Both will be accepting pre-orders today, however its not believed either will be offer a specific deal.
