On Wednesday, Apple added 10 new merchants to the “Where to use Apple Pay” page on the company’s website. The total number of merchants that now support Apple’s NFC-based mobile payments system is now 68. Three of the new merchants added to the page are not new though. Oracle Arena, the Amway Center and U.S. Airways Center all previously accepted Apple Pay (via 9to5Mac).
Earlier this year, Eddy Cue, Apple’s head of Internet Software and Services, demonstrated using Apple Pay when he attended an NBA game at Oracle Arena.
The seven new merchants now accepting Apple Pay include Acme, Davis Food and Drug, Firehouse Subs, GameStop, Luby’s, Inc., Rubio’s Restaurants, Inc. and T-Mobile retail.
The page also has a “coming soon” section that shows merchants that will begin accepting Apple Pay soon, including Albertsons, LLC, Anthropologie, Free People, Pep Boys, Raley’s, Jersey Mike’s Subs, L.L. Bean, Inc., Marriott, Renaissance Hotels and more.
Earlier this week, Apple also announced 39 additional banks and credit unions that have added support for Apple Pay. More than 180 financial institutions now support Apple Pay.
The page also added RadPad, Inc., an apartment search app, to the list of apps in which users can use Apple Pay. The total number of apps that now support Apple Pay stands at 30.
