Newest iPad Pro accessories, just in time for holiday shopping

November 11 (11.11.15) is a special date, not for romantic or scientific reasons, but for Apple fans, it is the day that the iPad Pro was officially sold by Apple online and will soon be available in retail stores. And to personalize and enhance the iPad Pro experience, manufacturers and startups have already crafted dozens of accessories for Apple’s latest tablet. We take a look at some of the more noteworthy iPad Pro accessories to recently hit the market.

A quick recap on the perks of the iPad Pro: it features a 12.9-inch Retina display, 64-bit A9X processor, M9 motion co-processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB and 128GB (Wi-Fi only) storage options, 1.2MP FaceTime camera, 8MP iSight camera, and promises 10 hours or so of battery life with video playback. The base model costs $799 and comes with a Lighting to USB cable and USB power adapter in the box. For an additional $169, you can purchase Apple’s new Smart Keyboard and for another $99, you can avail the Apple Pencil, the company’s first stylus.

Despite of the bigger size, the iPad Pro is slim and light for portability, so getting the right accessories will be crucial. You don’t want your iPad Pro to get bumped and scratched while you’re out and about right? And you don’t want your to lose your Apple Pencil while you are travelling.

Here are just some of the latest iPad Pro accessories that will cater to varying needs or style preferences:

Scarlett iPad Pro Sleeve

Scarlett-sleeves-3-colors_grandeSan Francisco-based maker of elegant bags for women, PERALTA, has teamed up with  LUNA Textiles, a local, women-owned manufacturer, for the Scarlett iPad Pro Sleeve. The sleeve is custom-size for the iPad Pro and it features an integrated Apple Pencil slot as well as a place for the Apple Smart Keyboard or the Logitech CREATE keyboard, without compromising the compartment for the iPad Pro itself.

The Scarlett sleeve comes in a choice of two elegant, water-resistant LUNA fabrics or in classic black ballistic nylon, a scratch-free liner and padded interior to keep the iPad Pro protected at all times. The Scarlett iPad Pro Sleeve is now available for $79.

Pad & Pencil

Pad_&_PencilA simple iPad Pro sleeve that was quickly funded in Kickstarter PBC and will hopefully be delivered within this month for early backers.

The Pad & Pencil is made up of oil-tanned leather and comes in sizes that would accommodate just the iPad Pro, or the device with a Smart Keyboard. What makes it special is that it comes with a designated slot for the Apple Pencil that is easy to access, something that a lot of iPad Pro cases are currently lacking.

Apple Pencil Charging Dock

Apple_Pencil_DocksFor some, the iPad Pro may be a bit too big to carry with them so it might become a permanent fixture on their desk or table. If so, you might be interested in Moxiware’s Apple Pencil Charging Dock. The device is the perfect place to keep the Apple Pencil when not in use, plus it charges the stylus so it always has juice.

It comes it two models, Cone and Cylindrical, both offering the same elegant style and functionality. Priced at $29.95 with a $6.95 international shipping fee.

Quarter

QuarterThe Quarter is another device that has already been successfully funded on Kickstarter and will hopefully be shipped to backers by December 2015.

The Quarter has four features: it seamlessly connects your iPad Pro and Apple Pencil; acts as a dock for the Apple Pencil, holding it upright when the iPad Pro is placed in a flat surface; there’s a slot where the Lightning cable passes through so you can charge the device while the Apple Pencil is docked; and it locks the Apple Pencil cap/lid when you are charging the device on the iPad Pro so you never have to lose it.

CREATE

Logitech_CREATECustom-made for the iPad Pro, Logitech’s CREATE keyboard aims to protect and be functional at the same time. It utilizes the new Smart Connector on the iPad Pro so it never needs to be charged or be paired, just snap it on and it’s ready to use.

CREATE features a full back-lit keyboard with iOS shortcuts, has auto sleep/wake functions, comes in red, blue and black colors and priced at $149.95.

Jot Dash

Jot_DashIf the Apple Pencil is a bit too pricey for you, Adonit Creative, Inc. offers Jot, a line of styluses for your different needs. One of their reasonably priced offerings is the Jot Dash, a click and go stylus that makes it easy to write things on the go, has a battery life of about 14 hours and charges in just 45 minutes.

Another great thing about the Jot Dash is that it works not only on your iPad Pro but also on other iOS devices and even Android devices. The Jot Dash is priced at $49.99.

Booy

BooyFinding the right case that doubles as a stand can be pretty tricky. If you’ve noticed, the case angle usually is not right and you can’t use a stand when you place the tablet on your lap.

A Kickstarter project called Booy aims to resolve the angular issues of using a tablet, especially on your lap. Though not a case, it is a magnetic cushion that conforms to any surface, flat or irregular, so you always have the best angle when you’re typing on the iPad, browsing the web, playing games or just watching videos. You can back it on Kickstarter for $80 and expect to have it arrive at your door by February 2016.
