GoPro enthusiasts will now be able to live-stream their action videos to an audience instantly. GoPro Inc. has announced an integration with Twitter Inc.-owned Periscope, allowing users to broadcast directly from their GoPro.
The news comes just two weeks after Periscope integrated with Twitter, allowing users to watch Periscope broadcasts without leaving the Twitter app.
To live-stream directly from your GoPro, you will need a GoPro Hero 4 Black or Silver camera. The broadcast functionality is currently only available for iOS (sorry Android) and will require an iPhone 5s or newer, using iOS 8.2 or later. While the functionality is only available for iOS users, everyone will be able to view the GoPro broadcasts.
GoPro will be putting the Periscope integration to the test this week when the company will be live streaming from the X Games that starts on Thursday, January 28 in Aspen, CO. If you are a sport’s enthusiast, you can follow @GoPro #XGames for daily streams.
