Nightmare for furious Xbox One Live fans as service more down than up for long periods of time

According to reports Xbox One Live has been up and down for the last couple of days, and at the moment is still experiencing problems in the U.K. and North America. Right now Microsoft states on its Xbox support page that there is “limited” service  for Social and Gaming services including: in-game matchmaking, cloud storage, finding friends, Game DVR, leaderboards, avatar editing, or pictures.

Prior to this Microsoft said in an earlier statement that the problems had been fixed, posting on Twitter, “Connecting to Xbox Live should be good to go now!” an official Xbox support messages explains.” Perhaps to attenuate gamers’ anger Microsoft added, “”We’ll always be here to help out & answer any questions. Happy Presidents Day!”

Since the intermittent ups and downs that seemed to start last Sunday in the U.S. and across the pond, Twitter has been inundated with gamers venting their anger. Some of the more recent comments show just how long some accounts have been down:

“More than $2 billion in annual subscriber revenue and #XboxLive still goes down at least once a week. #customersatisfaction”

“@XboxSupport @XboxP3 maybe you guys can give me a report on how many days #xboxlive has been down for my class action lawsuit? Thanks”

“@XboxSupport so xbox live core services are down again, that would make two nights in a row, how about half off gold membership..sounds good!”

Microsoft has yet to explain to aggrieved Xbox One Live subscribers why the service was down, although in its latest update states that the problem only now affects backward compatibility: “Hey Xbox members, are you having difficulty playing your new or previously purchased copy of Galaga with Xbox One Backward Compatibility? We’re aware of this issue, and we’re working to address it right away!”

Judging by the number of negative comments Microsoft had better sort this issue out soon. It looks as if that is going to happen according to a downdetector.com Xbox Live graph. On the other hand, comments on the same site made just minutes ago from disappointed Xbox One Live customers suggest otherwise.
