Hacker leaks data from darknet hitman website
There’s a saying about “honor among thieves” that suggests people who break the law will respect one another. However, that is not the case at all, particularly when it comes to cyber crime. A hacker has struck the darknet site “Besa Mafia,” leaking information about its users, hit orders, and personal messages for the world (and law enforcement) to see.
Besa Mafia is a hitman-for-hire website, connected largely to the Albanian Mafia. The site uses DeepWeb security and Bitcoin to try and keep its activities hidden, but that didn’t stop a hacker calling himself “bRpsd” from breaking into the site and posting its information.
Among the leaked data, BatBlue reports, is the information for 250 user accounts, 38 hit orders, over 2,000 personal messages between users and administrators, and perhaps most chillingly, a folder called “victims” that supposedly contains pictures and reports of the Besa Mafia’s victims.
Financial information was not revealed, particularly since the website deals in Bitcoin, but the likely purpose was not to steal money or passwords, but to expose the Besa Mafia’s crimes and its clientele.
Naturally, there are no reports on what the website is doing in response, but it’s safe to assume that it will not be working with law enforcement to determine how the data breach occurred and who is responsible. However, it is likely that law enforcement will get involved nonetheless, though not in regards to the hacker.
