How one company ensures easy access to data | #AWSSummit
As the data streams in, it has to be stored somewhere. Enterprises are looking for the latest and greatest solutions to data storage, and one company says it has the answer. No need to buy endless amounts of storage when Zadara allows enterprises to purchase exactly what they need, said Nelson Nahum, cofounder and CEO of Zadara Storage.
Nahum talked with Jeff Frick (@JeffFrick) and Lisa Martin (@Luccazara), cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during the AWS Summit in Santa Clara, CA, about Zadara Storage’s mission and products.
One-stop storage
Zadara offers enterprise-class storage with with high-grade capabilities. Not only can the company host vast amounts of data, but each customer can have their own customized “storage box,” said Nahum. This means every company has the opportunity to store their data to the specifications they feel are best.
Zadara Storage can also be used across cloud platforms, as well as on-premise. Customers are offered the highest possible flexibility with their data and guaranteed premium security, Nahum added.
Teaming up
Recently, Zadara partnered with AWS to bring its customers even more value. The ecosystem that Amazon provides creates a drive toward innovation and inspires Zadara to work at maximum capacity. Though the two companies may be competitors in some sectors, Amazon’s partnership keeps Zadara motivated to stay ahead of the curve. “If they move fast, we have to move faster,” said Nahum.
The partnership between AWS and Zadara also offers a wider range of access. Zadara is now marketed to a much wider audience and offers storage capabilities and specifics that customers won’t find elsewhere.
Moving forward
Traditionally, enterprises have always bought more storage than they needed. There was a waste in space, as well as cost. Zadara offers enterprises the option to provision only the storage they need on a per-use basis. They can cut costs on projects and eliminate old storage once a project is finished, Nahum stated.
Zadara wants to help all businesses, not just big enterprises, extend their workload storage on demand. In addition to those storage capabilities, Zadara also manages and monitors data so that customers don’ have to. It’s all about making the customer’s life easier, Nahum added.
Whether on a public cloud or on-premise, a company’s data “should always be easy to access,” said Nahum.
