As cybersecurity breaches, including new and evolving malware technology such as ransomware, continue to challenge organizations of all types, security professionals continue to battle back.
“I actually think that right here, right now, we are in the midst of geeks with capes. These are the new superheroes. My cybersecurity superheroes are right here,” said Tamara McCleary (pictured), chief executive officer of Thulium.co, an industry brand consultancy with customers like Verizon Enterprise and IBM.
With press pass in hand, McCleary was roaming the trade show floor at the RSA Conference in San Francisco to uncover what’s new in security and where new threats exist. While doing so, she bumped into Jeff Frick (@JeffFrick), co-host of theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s mobile live-streaming studio.
McCleary spoke to Frick about the state of security and the vibe of the RSA security show.
McCleary went on to discuss the cool new things she saw at the RSA Conference and pointed out her interest in Internet of Things threats and how the cybersecurity industry is using artificial intelligence to battle security threats today and what that might lead to tomorrow.
“We’re looking at artificial intelligence and what AI has got to do with security. What I find interesting is that we have to future forward into machines talking to machines. Machines are going to be the new cyberattacker,” McCleary said.
