Taiwanese multinational hardware technology company Acer Inc. yesterday announced a wide range of new hardware at its annual global press conference in New York.

The company announced new gaming monitors and notebooks, an all-in-one desktop, a smartwatch and more. In addition to the various notebooks and 2-in-1’s, Acer also announced its Holo 360-degree video camera. The two fish-eye cameras on either side provide 360-degree and virtual reality capable video. While the built-in Long Term Evolution 4G capability will allow users to share their videos directly from the device and make phone calls.

Here’s a look at some of the other hardware that Acer announced at its press conference:

Expanded 2-in-1 lineup: Switch 3 and Switch 5

The Switch 3 is a budget-friendly version of the high-end Acer Switch Alpha 12 tablet. It has a  12.2-inch display, lower-powered Pentium N4200 chips, up to 128GB of memory and up to 4GB of RAM.

The Switch 5 has the same fanless, liquid-cooling system as its predecessor, the Switch Alpha 12. This 2-in-1 comes with either a 7th Generation Intel Core i7 or i5 processor, up to 512GB SSD and up to 8GB of RAM. It has a built-in fingerprint scanner on the power button and Acer’s patented auto-retracting kickstand, which can be adjusted with one hand.  

Both the Switch 3 and 5 come with an attachable keyboard, a backlit version for the Switch 5, connected via ultra-secure magnets. The devices also have a USB 3.1 Type-C port, USB 3.1 Type-A port, Bluetooth 4.0 and Windows 10.

Both devices will be available in June with a starting price of $399 for the Switch 3 and $799 for the Switch 5.

Notebooks: Swift 1 and Swift 3

The Swift 1 is a budget-friendly notebook with all-metal chassis and a 13.3-inch Full HD display. It has an Intel Pentium or Celeron processor, 4GB of memory and up to 256GB of SSD or eMMC storage.

The Swift 3 notebook comes with 7th Generation Intel Core processors, Intel HD or NVIDIA GeForce graphics. It comes in a choice of 14 or 15.6-inch Full HD IPS anti-glare displays, 512GB SSDs or 1TB HDDs, up to 8GB of memory and an optional backlit keyboard.

Both devices have Windows 10 and support Windows Hello through fingerprint readers. They also have 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac wireless technology.

Both devices will be available in June with a starting price of $329 for the Swift 1 and $599 for the Swift 3.

Gaming monitors and laptops

For the gamers out there Acer introduced the Predator Triton 700, which the company describes as “ultra thin.” The Predator Triton 700 measures 0.74 inch, which is pretty thin compared to other hefty gaming laptops on the market. The notebook includes 7th Generation Intel Core processors and the latest Nvidia GeForce GTX 10-Series graphics. The mechanical keyboard has been pushed forward and the trackpad sits above the keyboard.

Acer also announced the Predator Helios 300 gaming notebook lineup, available in 15.6 or 17.3-inch displays. The notebooks come with a 7th Generation Intel Core i7 or i5 processor, GTX 1060 or 1050Ti GPU, up to 16GB of DDR4 memory, SATA SSD1 and a 1TB HDD1. Both models will be available in July with a starting price of $1,299 and $1,399 respectively.

There are also new monitors available for gamers. The 27-inch Predator X27 and Predator Z271UV both use Quantum Dot and eye-tracking technology. The Predator X27 has a 4K (3840×2160) resolution at a 144 Hz refresh rate, a 4 ms response time and a 1,000 nit peak brightness. While the Predator Z271UV offers gamers a WQHD (2560×1440) resolution on a curved 1800R panel with a ZeroFrame edge-to-edge design.

All-in-one desktops

Acer also announced two all-in-one desktops, the 27-inch Aspire U27 and 23.8-inch Aspire Z24. Both devices come with 7th Generation Intel Core processors, up to 32 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz memory and Windows 10.

The Aspire U27’s chassis is ultra-thin, measuring 0.5 inches, thanks to the LiquidLoop fanless cooling system. Users can log in via Windows Hello using facial recognition.

Both devices will be available in July with a starting price of $1,099 for the Aspire U27 and $899 for the Aspire Z24.

Leap Ware smartwatch

Acer has had fitness bands before, but the Leap Ware is a fully-fledged smartwatch with a round display protected by Gorilla Glass SR+. The Leap Ware comes with an array of sensors and is able to monitor heart rate, stamina, stress and fatigue levels and exposure to ultraviolet rays.

The Leap Ware is compatible with an iOS and Android app, which will alert users on their smartwatch when people are phoning or texting.

The Leap Ware smartwatch will be available in July with a starting price of $139.

Acer also announced a variety of 4K display products, including two new projectors and a 4K LED monitor.
