Google Drive integrates DocuSign, K2 and Nintex to speed up business workflows

Google LLC is integrating a number of tools with its cloud storage service Google Drive to make it easier for users to find information and take certain actions without leaving the platform.

“As more and more companies migrate their content to the cloud, it’s critical that they reimagine their workflows to follow similar principles: to help people stay focused, stay informed and to keep distractions at bay,” Google product manager Erika Trautman explained in a blog post. “This means that your workflows need to be easy to set up and deploy, but flexible enough to meet your enterprise’s unique needs.”

The integrations include DocuSign, which enables documents and contracts to be signed electronically. Now, documents can be signed directly within Google Drive, together with the ability to control post-agreement actions such as billings, account activation and payments.

Next up is K2, which is a process automation service that relies on machine learning to simplify workflows such as a loan application request. Machine learning models are used to determine if an application meets the required parameters for acceptance. If it does, the application can then be sent to a human agent for manual verification; otherwise, it will automatically be denied.

The last integration concerns a process management, automation, and optimization platform called Nintex that’s used by businesses to streamline workflows such as contract lifecycle management.

“If you’ve ever managed a contract from start to finish at your company, you understand the complexities firsthand of creating the document, navigating approvals across HR, Legal, and Sales departments, and integrating that information with various systems,” Trautman said.

When combined with Google Drive, Nintex can do much of this heavy lifting automatically. Features include generate contracts automatically, inputting or altering information in responsive forms, and creating processes with clicks instead of code. Once the contracts are made, users can send them to be reviewed or signed by other individuals directly from Google Drive.

Trautman said the new integrations will be available “soon,” and will be showcased in a demonstration at the Google Cloud Next 2019 event in San Francisco April 9-11.
