Applause, Infosys join forces to bring tangible testing solutions closer to customers

Crowdsourced testing solutions company Applause App Quality Inc. announced today a partnership with Infosys Ltd., a next-generation digital services and consulting firm, to build out end-to-end testing services for clients.

Applause provides real-world testing of software applications through crowds of actual people interacting in real-time with the product in order to deliver actionable intelligence about how real users would interact with the product under real conditions.

“We invented the crowdtesting category over a decade ago, and we are the place that digital leaders turn to ensure their new customer experiences work flawlessly – on every device, in every language, in any location,” said Doron Reuveni, founder and chief executive of Applause. “Every new release and digital experience – whether it’s an app, chatbot or omnichannel purchasing experience – should be tested by actual users in real-world situations.”

The partnership will combine Infosys’ capability to organize and manage workers within the boundaries of a business’ organization with Applause’s existing testing infrastructure. As a result, businesses and enterprise firms will be able to apply a testing-as-a-service solution from Infosys into their own processes the same way they would outsource development work.

Promised benefits of the partnership for Infosys clients include end-to-end user experience testing coverage, better understanding of the experience of everyday users, the ability to get ahead of issues before they crop up in production, the capability of simultaneously running multiple tests at scale and the ability to conduct comparative studies of new feature outcomes.

“The relationship with Applause strengthens our ability to offer clients the highest-quality digital testing services,” said Mohit Joshi, president of Infosys. “This will ensure that our clients’ digital experiences are validated by real customers and highly vetted testers before new features are released into the market thereby improving our clients’ customer satisfaction ratings.”

According to Applause, clients in the pilot phase of the program have already seen results from implementations of crowdsourced testing for a credit card promotion. Within 10 days, the pilot team discovered misclassifications for 15% of tested transactions and fixed the back-end defects before they appeared on statements that customers would see.

This joint approach enabled the credit card company to get its new feature to market faster, with fewer errors. As a result, the two companies believe, this drove higher customer satisfaction and limited further service costs associated with launching a flawed promotion.

The two companies also said the partnership will enable easier integration of testing services for DevOps teams and developers implementing Agile processes. It does this by providing increased communication between testers, development, and operations teams and thus accelerated feedback that can drive a tighter development lifecycle.

With the integration between Applause testing and Infosys service outsourcing, DevOps teams can test more frequently, with better device coverage, faster than before, and provide for better outcomes before features reach production.
