Israeli cloud security platform startup Lightspin Technologies Ltd. announced today that it has raised $16 million in funding, with plans to triple its headcount.

Founded in 2020, Lightspin offers a context-based cloud security platform for cloud-native and Kubernetes environments. Designed to continuously visualize, detect and block any attack path, the platform provides a full contextual view of all cloud assets and relationships. The platform prioritizes and remediates the most critical security issues from build to runtime by mapping the potential attack paths.

Lightspin pitches itself as providing comprehensive protection that companies need to keep them secured along their path to digital transformation. The platform offers graph-based visualization that maps cloud assets and relationships from the attacker’s perspective, allow companies to visualize their current security posture.

Under the hood, Lightspin’s platform uses predictive path analysis algorithms enriched with threat intelligence from top third-party services to discovers any risky path and any potential attack vector. The ability to detect and prioritize issues is key to the company’s offering, displaying the most critical items and their remediation actions so that a team “can focus on what matters most.”

The agentless, lightweight offering works with any cloud environment. It can be deployed with a few clicks to Amazon Web Services Inc., Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud or Kubernetes. The service also integrates with popular developer tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, CircleCI, GitLab and Bitbucket.
