Samsung expected to debut new watches, foldable phones at event in August
Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. is reportedly planning an event on Aug. 11 where it will debut new watches and foldable phones, according to multiple reports.
The Aug. 11 date was first reported by Korean Daily last week in a report that claimed that Samsung would debut five new products, including the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The date is roughly in line with previous Samsung events, with the Fold 2 having been announced Sept. 1 last year, while the year before Samsung held an unpacked event Aug. 7.
Also backing the date is serial Samsung leaker Evan Blass, who has provided details and renderings of the devices expected to be launched. At the top of the list is a rendering of the Z Fold 3 that, according to The Verge, Blass has said will come in white, green and black.

Reports also say the phone will include a front-facing camera behind the screen, an improved rear camera and support for S Pen.
Following is the Z Flip 3 that Blass claims will come in purple, black, gold and green:

Blass also provides a render of the Galaxy S21 FE, the midrange version of the S21 released earlier this year:

Also reported to come at the event is the launch of two new Samsung watches. One may be the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and the other may be the Galaxy Watch Active 4. The most significant change with the Galaxy Watch 4 is that the operating system will change from Samsung’s native Tizen to Google LLC’s Android Wear OS.

The Galaxy Buds 2 wireless earbuds are also reported to be coming at the event.
Missing from the lineup is a new version of the Galaxy Note. The Note 20 was launched in August 2020, but it’s seemingly not coming at this event. A report in March suggested that Samsung may not launch a Galaxy Note this year because of a chip supply problem. Given no apparent leaks, it’s looking that this could indeed be the case.
