Splunk’s secret to a soaring customer success, according to the company’s SVP

As enterprises scale, penetrate new product niches and markets and reach new heights of profitability, their demands constantly change. Moreover, given the current global predisposition and the increased complexities and business velocity it has created, Splunk is continuing on its mission to help its customers create value wherever possible.

“There are whole new challenges to effectively monitoring infrastructure and applications, and maintaining security posture. With this too, customers that I’m talking to are also having to figure out ways to do a lot more with less. So our customers are relying on Splunk and customer success to get to value, to investigate, to monitor, to detect, and to remediate,” said Katie Bianchi (pictured), senior vice president of customer success at Splunk Inc.

Bianchi spoke with John Furrier, host of theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio, during the Splunk .conf21 Virtual event. They discussed how Splunk is enabling vital value delivery for its customers, and the success stories that have emanated therefrom. (* Disclosure below.)

Dealing with shifting customer use cases

At times, bringing new features for customers means embarking on paths less traveled. Splunk has embraced that challenge and, according to Bianchi, has put measures in place to ensure that the company’s technical services scale to the needs of consumers, and adoption planning and use case guidance is also provided.

“They’re asking for more modularized content and they’re asking us for more ways that they can drive best practices and use case guidance from right within the product. And those are things that we are working on to help continue as we scale out what we’re able to do,” she explained.

The pandemic has also brought the need for digital transformation to the fore. Splunk has recognized that need in its customer success efforts – according to Bianchi. “Over the last year, we’ve seen customers get to very much quicker value in Splunk Cloud.  They’re going through large, complex transformations. One of the easiest things you can do is shed the amount of time and money you’re spending, managing, monitoring your infrastructure.”
