Salesforce-native testing platform Provar unveils end-to-end management solution

Provar Ltd., the developer of test management for software Salesforce, today announced the release of Provar Manager, which will assist delivery teams by providing end-to-end testing automation and monitoring for teams.

With Manager, Provar is extending its testing solutions throughout the entire development lifecycle to allow entire teams to organize, analyze and optimize the testing pipeline and examine the entire approach from a holistic view. Fitting to its name, Manager’s capabilities provide planning, design and documentation for testing to weld together manual, automated, unit and exploratory unit testing with result reporting.

It is designed with more in mind than just DevOps engineers, which blend developers and operations engineers. As a result, it branches out test configuration, planning and result visibility to admins, managers and business users.

“With Provar Manager, Provar is expanding its reach from testers and DevOps engineers to the entire product team for enterprise applications,” said Vernon Keenan, senior industry analyst at SalesforceDevops.net. “Provar Manager helps teams professionalize their DevOps journey.”

Richard Clark, the chief product officer at Provar, said that the company collaborated with pilot and beta users to expand its product offering in testing and quality assurance and came up with Provar Manager.

“We recognized a gap in the software testing ecosystem for people performing manual testing, [who were] looking for an ongoing record of those results to determine which tests to automate in the future, and wanting to use Salesforce as their repository for that data,” Clark said.

Using Manager, all test activities can be viewed under one pane of glass and all quality assurance results can be quickly understood. Any object in the platform can be used for reporting and any data can be used within an already familiar dashboard and shared with the team. It is also designed with a common object model and a well-defined application programming interface used for Salesforce apps, meaning that it will integrate quickly.

The objective of Manager is to provide teams with a single access point for command and control for test management and a single point of truth for quality control for all of their testing. As a result, even as test management becomes more complex across any given project or group, they will never be far from the fingertips of the people who need to configure, compile and digest them.

“This holistic solution works not just for your Salesforce applications, but also for measuring the quality over time for all your business applications,” Clark said. “We’ve made Provar Manager a solution for all.”

Provar Manager integrates with all of Provar’s cloud quality testing products as well as popular DevOps and testing products including Atlassian Jira, Flosum and Salesforce DevOpsCenter.

In order to get DevOps teams started, Provar offers a free trial of Provar Manager and free online training. Pricing starts at $350 per company per month on Salesforce AppExchange.
