BIG DATA

Advanced real-time data a potential gamechanger as the enterprise goes high-fidelity

Databases are a critical operating component for today’s data-driven enterprises. And as advanced artificial intelligence continues to take hold, it’s adding a whole new set of exciting possibilities to the mix.

SingleStore Inc. is leading the charge to propagate a real-time data paradigm catalyzed by AI’s expanding capabilities, according to Raj Verma (pictured, left), chief executive officer of SingleStore Inc.

“We do think that the world needs to be real-time and especially in the service economy that we live in,” Verma said. “Our vision has been and continues to be that the future of databases is going to be a platform where you can transact with very high fidelity and reason with data without moving data, and put it in the right context in a hybrid [or] multicloud environment with millisecond response times.”

Verma and Kannan D.R. (right), chief architect of LiveRamp Holdings Inc., spoke with theCUBE industry analysts Lisa Martin and Dustin Kirkland at the Google Cloud Next event, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the future of real-time data infused with AI. (* Disclosure below.)

Discussing the LiveRamp example

With data companies such as SingleStore targeting sub-10 millisecond latency times for most data operations, the singular parallel that’s facilitating both that goal and the ongoing AI boom is graphics processing units, Verma added.

LiveRamp, on the other hand, is a data collaboration platform that connects various customer data touchpoints and lets them liaise with their own partners and customers through the data. The company is leveraging SingleStore’s technology to reinvent itself and upgrade its data stack, according to D.R.

“The knowledge and data … database is good, but whereas technology, we have to reinvent,” he noted. “So that’s what we are doing right now — we are reinventing ourselves with the new technology like SingleStore and different new technologies upstack. We are upgrading it to solve our problems now.”
