Ecosystem orchestration unveiled: Apptium Technologies’ approach to simplify AI and billing

Digital transformation journeys have been made easier with the introduction of cloud computing technology, and now, artificial intelligence is stepping in to ease even more pressure off of tech leaders making the change.

Apptium Technologies LLC is dedicated to blending digital transformation expertise with cloud commerce solutions and it’s introducing AI into the mix.

“At Apptium we are deeply involved in AI technologies,” said Ionut (John) Grosu (pictured), chief technology officer of Apptium Technologies. “One of the original solutions that we benefited with AI from was providing a constant optimization engine.  We consume a lot of data, billing data and usage data, so we’ve created a cost optimization engine which analyzes all those data points.”

Grosu spoke with theCUBE industry analysts  John Furrier and Dustin Kirkland at the Google Cloud Next event, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed how Apptium is adopting AI into its services, what challenges it faces and ecosystem orchestration. (* Disclosure below.)

Abstracting complexity

Ecosystem orchestration is the process of managing and coordinating multiple parts of an ecosystem, Grosu explained. By doing this, he went on, multiple actors and multiple players can create and share a consolidated value across a common set of customers.

“It’s dealing with the root of the problem which is where you buy from,” he said. “Vendors, cloud providers, service vendors and all of that, handling the financial aspect of things like doing the actual billing on your behalf, like generating invoices for your resellers and for your customers … If you move further down, you have a fully-fledged catalog that you can benefit from either on direct selling or indirect selling.”

The group closed the conversation by discussing how AI can be made simpler for users. Coming from the startup space, Grosu explained, one of the core values brought to the table is making sure there is always a focus on simplicity and user experience.

“We abstract the complexity away from the customer’s experience. That’s extremely, extremely important for us,” Grosu said. “One of the things that we are working on right now is a recommendation engine using AI that’s a hundred percent tailored for cloud commerce. There’s a lot of solutions out there for recommendation engines.”
