Serverless platform startup Koyeb Inc. today announced that it has raised $7 million in new funding to advance its serverless platform, as it aims to enable the deployment of applications globally without requiring developers to manage infrastructure or rewrite code.
Founded in Paris in 2020, Koyeb offers a serverless platform that provides developers and businesses with a fast way to run applications, application programming interfaces and databases and manage workers globally through high-performance micro-virtual machines. The platform is programming language-agnostic and supports several deployment options: git-based deployments, deployments via a Docker file and deployments via any container registry.
The platform’s built-in features deliver the ability to deploy global applications, including a native continuous deployment pipeline, global load balancing across an extensive edge network and private networking. The platform also supports multiregion deployments in any location across three continents, horizontal scaling and support for HTTP/2, gRPC and WebSocket connections.
Koyeb provides developers with a range of tools — the Koyeb API, the Koyeb CLI, infrastructure-as-code tools for automation with Terraform and Pulumi providers, and comprehensive documentation for a self-service experience.
“We provide an easy way to deploy full-stack applications and databases in production, everywhere, in minutes,” the company’s founders, Bastien Chatelard, Edouard Bonlieu and Yann Léger (pictured), said in a blog post. “We’re focused on allowing developers and businesses to seamlessly build, run and scale any application globally, with no code rewrite or infrastructure management.”
The round was led by Bertrand Diard and Floriane de Maupeou at Serena, with ISAI S.A.S, Samsung Next Ventures LLC, MongoDB Inc., the Raise Phiture Foundation Inc. and a range of individual investors also participating.
The individual investors participating in the round include Robin Vasan (MangoCap LLC), Udi Nachmany (Snyk Ltd.), Zachary Smith (Packet Communications Inc.), Justin Ziegler (Priceminister SAS), Alexis Lê-Quôc (Datadog Inc.), Hank Vigil (AceCap LLC), Marc Jalabert, (Microsoft Corp.), Amirhossein Malekzadeh (Logmatic Inc.), Philippe Besnard (Pentagram Design Inc.) and Fabrice Bernhard (Theodo SAS).
