One Identity launches new SaaS solution for privileged access management
Unified identity security company One Identity LLC today announced the general availability of One Identity Cloud PAM Essentials, a software-as-a-service solution for simplified privileged access management, with a specific focus on cloud applications and infrastructure.
PAM Essentials has been designed to empower security teams with robust controls that ensure that only authorized individuals can gain access to sensitive systems and data. The solution provides complete visibility into user activities, facilitating proactive risk management through an intuitive user interface, according to the company.
One Identity argues that the surge in cloud migration, coupled with the expansion of the attack surface and the growing sophistication and frequency of cyberattacks, underscores a critical need for effective PAM solutions. PAM tightly controls and audits access to privileged accounts, playing a pivotal role in bolstering an organization’s security posture and mitigating identity-based attacks.
“Unlike existing solutions in the market that often entail long and costly deployments, PAM Essentials can be up and running in minutes, without the need for additional infrastructure investments,” Chief Executive Mark Logan. “This solution can save customers thousands of dollars on implementations, making sophisticated PAM security attainable for even the smallest of organizations.”
The solution provides PAM support for small and mid-sized businesses, which often grapple with limited information technology resources. One Identity claims that SMBs stand to benefit significantly from the solution.
Key features of PAM Essentials include cloud-native PAM functionality, which allows remote and hybrid security teams to access cloud applications and resources with ease. Sessions-based privileged access monitors user sessions, controlling and recording with remote access via SSH and RDP.
PAM Essentials offers privileged session recording, with structured audit logs, protocol proxy session recordings and isolation of user sessions to create a strong forensic trail that tracks potential threats.
Secured credentials management in the service offers central orchestration of auto-login, timely rotation of passwords and vaulting of local server account passwords to reduce the risk of unauthorized access. And secure tunnel technology eliminates the complexities of traditional network access solutions, with no virtual private network needed thanks to its zero-trust architecture.
One Identity is a unit of Quest Software Inc., a former subsidiary of Dell Technologies Inc. that spun off into an independent company in 2016. Quest Software was acquired by private equity firm Clearlake Capital Group for a reported $5.4 billion in November 2021.
