Flashpoint unveils enhanced threat intelligence capabilities to help companies stay ahead of threats

Business risk intelligence startup Flashpoint today announced the release of new features and capabilities to its platform that help companies stay ahead of threats and make critical decisions to protect people, places and assets.

Announced at the annual Black Hat USA conference in Las Vegas, the new features and capabilities include a new investigations management tool, a new intelligence requirements mapping feature and an enhanced location protection location alert system for physical assets. All three were designed to deliver the most actionable insights precisely aligned with a customer’s threat and intelligence needs, allowing organizations to make informed decisions and protect their most critical assets.

Leading the list are enhancements to Flashpoint Ignite, tailored threat intelligence for precision and impact that tackles the issue of organizations facing threats, such as the sheer volume and noise of data and differing security goals. Flashpoint argues that these challenges, combined with ineffective operationalization and skill shortages, leave teams struggling to leverage threat intelligence effectively.

Flashpoint Ignite has been designed to make threat intelligence meaningful and immediately applicable by combining Flashpoint’s extensive data collection with advanced analytics and a deep understanding of each customer’s unique needs to transform cyber threats into clear, actionable and relevant insights tailored to each customer’s needs.

The enhancements include a new Investigations Management tool that integrates effortlessly into customized threat intelligence workflows, allowing users to gather relevant data, apply custom tags, collaborate with colleagues, map to assets and prioritize based on urgency. The company says the tool adapts to various focus areas, such as tracking cyberthreats, insider activities or ransomware incidents, providing tailored, relevant intelligence.

Additionally, Flashpoint is showcasing at Black Hat its Intelligence Requirements Mapping feature set for release in the fourth quarter that allows customers to align Flashpoint collections with their Priority Intelligence Requirements. The platform will automatically scan, identify and deliver data matched to their PIRs into an organized folder, ensuring users receive highly targeted intelligence to enhance strategic decision-making, according to the company.

For its Echosec geospatially enriched open-source intelligence solution, Flashpoint has announced Location Protection, a service that centrally manages and monitors location-based assets and provides timely alerts if threats are detected nearby. It reduces noise and false positives by cataloging various asset types, visualizing them on interactive maps and setting up proximity-based alerts for events detected near these geo-referenced assets.

“The threat landscape is constantly evolving, with a barrage of increasingly sophisticated threats and complex attack vectors challenging security professionals,” said Chief Executive Josh Lefkowitz.
