Persistent Systems and Google Cloud form strategic alliance to drive innovation in AI and cybersecurity
Partnerships are the backbone of today’s value-focused landscape, with strategic alliances combining best-of-breed technologies to unlock new value delivery areas.
Persistent Systems and Google Cloud have embraced this ethos wholeheartedly. Their partnership highlights the shift in the IT services market, where agility and deep expertise are key to delivering exceptional value to clients.
“The customer buying preferences and buying patterns have changed,” said Pallab Deb (pictured, right), managing director of system integrator and industry GTM partnerships at Google Cloud. “Generative AI, in some sense, brought in a whole new meaning to how people consume technology and what it can do for businesses. Cybersecurity has taken in a whole new meaning, especially after everything that we have seen in the last few quarters. We are realizing that these are important for … not just the biggest partners and customers out there, but across segments.”
Deb and Ayon Banerjee (left), chief strategy and growth officer of Persistent Systems, spoke with theCUBE Research Principal Analyst Shelly Kramer during a Persistent Systems Partner Series exclusive interview on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed Persistent and Google Cloud’s focus on expanding joint efforts in key industries, developing new solutions and continuing to refine delivery and support capabilities. The significance of the Persistent and Google Cloud partnership
With its deep expertise in data and technology, Persistent Systems has grown as one of Google’s key partners. This decade-long collaboration is built on a foundation of shared goals — primarily to leverage each other’s strengths to meet the evolving needs of customers. It’s about being “better together,” with both companies pooling their resources and expertise to create solutions that neither could achieve alone, according to Banerjee.
“One of the mottos we as a company have is that we like to be seen as the orchestrator of choice for our customers,” he said. “What that means is whether you’re looking for something on the data side or something on the cloud side, or whether you’re looking at a set of verticalized and horizontal solutions, we try and do this through a combination of us and partners, such as Google.”
Persistent and Google Cloud extended their partnership in June to boost digital transformation across the U.S., India, UK and Australia. They’re now working together to create industry-specific solutions using Google Cloud’s cutting-edge AI and technologies, making it easier for businesses to adopt the latest advancements. By combining Persistent’s expertise with Google Cloud’s powerful platforms, they’ll help clients in areas such as healthcare, finance and telecom modernize and get the most out of their cloud investments, according to Banerjee and Deb.
“The strategic partnership agreement is … formalizing that motion by bringing to bear what both parties can bring to the table to capitalize on this opportunity … for both our customers and our companies,” Deb said.
Google’s broader growth strategy in its cloud operations has resulted in a growth from $6 billion in total market value to $40 billion. That strategy is helmed by a partner-focused approach, enabling Google Cloud to expand rapidly and successfully navigate the competitive landscape, according to Deb.
“One of the early realizations was that we are never going to be able to make up for our late entry by trying to do it all alone,” he said. “Being partner-focused was integral to our broad journey right from the get-go, and it’s actually paid dividends. This entire growth journey … has been fueled by partners.”
An alliance built on expertise and agility
Generative AI, cybersecurity and data analytics are just a few areas where this partnership is making a significant impact. Clients across all segments, from large enterprises to smaller firms, are looking for partners who can help them harness the power of AI and other advanced technologies to transform their operations.
Persistent and Google Cloud prioritize agility and business expertise as both companies work closely with clients to understand their unique challenges and then leverage shared capabilities to deliver comprehensive solutions, according to Banerjee.
“We are very deep from a data standpoint,” he said. “Over the years, the entire data stack is something that we take to our clients and help them unlock the value of the data that they have both internally and externally. In the last decade or so, I would say that this data has suddenly started moving from indoors to outdoors to the cloud.”
This approach is particularly pertinent to industries like life sciences, where the speed and accuracy of drug development can be the difference between life and death. Persistent and Google Cloud are working together to accelerate the drug development process by harnessing the power of AI, machine learning and data analytics.
“If you look at drug development, if you look at everything from discovering a molecule to developing that molecule into a commercial drug, I mean the cycle used to be 10 to 13 years, and now we are starting to talk about a cycle which is really shrinking dramatically,” Banerjee said. “This is where we go to many of our life sciences clients and help them string these life cycles through the power of generative AI, machine learning and core data analytics.”
