Nile launches Trust Service to simplify campus zero-trust security for enterprise networks

Enterprise network-as-a-service startup Nile Global Inc. today launched Nile Trust Service, a new service designed to prevent ransomware and other lateral movement-initiated attacks.

Pitched as offering a “wholly new approach to securing the Local Area Network,” Nile Trust Service provides cybersecurity without the need to stitch together a complex mix of add-on products. Based on Nile’s existing Nile Access Service, the new service offers enterprises a built-in alternative that eliminates the expense and time required to build Campus Zero Trust security.

Campus Zero Trust security applies the “never trust, always verify” principle to large-scale enterprise networks, ensuring strict authentication, continuous verification and isolation of users and devices to prevent lateral movement of threats. Nile integrates the approach directly into its wired and wireless LAN architecture, embedding features such as microsegmentation, end-to-end encryption and automated policy enforcement to eliminate vulnerabilities and reduce operational complexity. By having zero-trust security at its core, Nile simplifies achieving advanced network protection for expansive campus environments.

“Achieving microsegmentation today means duct-taping many different technologies to a 30-year-old network architecture,” said co-founder and Chief Executive Pankaj Patel. “This makes attaining Campus Zero Trust difficult or even impossible for many organizations.”

The Nile Trust Service introduces a comprehensive approach to enterprise network security that addresses threats, including lateral movement attacks, while reducing the complexity and costs of legacy architectures. Its zero-trust infrastructure places every user and device into an isolated “segment of one,” limiting the scope of potential breaches. End-to-end encryption secures all communication within the network and automatic updates ensure that the latest security features and patches are always in place, maintaining a safe and stable environment.

The service also offers zero-trust access with robust authentication mechanisms, including single sign-on, multifactor authentication and device fingerprinting, along with a zero-trust policy for fine-grained traffic control. With additional features such as SCIM-based access management, advanced firewall support and microsegmentation, enterprises can detect and contain malware, enforce universal security policies and address threats from internet of things devices, such as MAC spoofing, the company said.

Together, the capabilities enhance security without operational burdens, as Nile claims that they redefine how organizations secure their wired and wireless networks.

In addition to delivering zero-trust security for the LAN, Nile also today announced new integrations with secure service edge leaders, including Palo Alto Networks Inc., Zscaler Inc. and Microsoft Entra. The integrations assist in the move toward “universal zero trust” as more organizations embrace cloud-based security solutions.
