CDW strengthens cloud offerings through Mission Cloud acquisition
Information technology firm CDW Corp. announced today that it had acquired managed cloud service provider Mission Cloud Services Inc. for an undisclosed price.
Founded in 2017, Mission Cloud is a managed services and consulting provider specializing in Amazon Web Services Inc. The company offers end-to-end cloud services, artificial intelligence solutions and software designed to meet the needs of small and midsized AWS customers.
Mission Cloud’s suite includes cloud management, migrations, DevOps automation, data analytics, machine learning and generative AI solutions. Together, the offerings help businesses accelerate technology adoption, optimize cloud environments and drive AI-driven innovation.
The company’s services emphasize security and compliance, providing services such as 24/7 security monitoring and response through its software-as-a-service application, Mission Cloud Secure. Launched in November, Mission Cloud Secure combines security capabilities from CrowdStrike Holdings Inc. with Mission’s AWS expertise to safeguard cloud resources, endpoints and credentials.
Mission Cloud has a team of over 300 professionals serving over 500 customers. Notable clients include the Boston Celtics, Playbill Inc., Magellan Financial Group Ltd., Estate Space LLC and Property Radar Inc.
Coming into its acquisition, Mission Cloud was majority-owned by private equity firm Green Hill Partners, which was solely behind the $107 million in private equity invested in Mission over three tranches since 2017. Mission Cloud had also raised $8 million in convention debt from SVB Equity Capital.
“The acquisition of Mission accelerates our three-part growth strategy by augmenting our cloud services and enhancing our ability to deliver customer-centric outcomes across the full technology solutions stack and lifecycle,” Christine A. Leahy, chair and chief executive officer of CDW, said in a statement. “We look forward to welcoming the talented Mission team to CDW and leveraging their robust cloud, security and AI expertise to lead the market and deliver on our purpose – to make technology work so people can do great things.”
