Kandji expands Apple security offerings with Vulnerability Management

Apple Inc. device management platform firm Kandji Inc. today announced the launch of Vulnerability Management, a new security solution that helps organizations identify, access, prioritize and fix security vulnerabilities caused by out-of-date software on their Mac computers.

Kandji Vulnerability Management differs from competing solutions that only detect vulnerabilities without offering a way to resolve them through real-time insights, integrated workflows and automated patching of hundreds of business apps and macOS.

The new service also addresses the issue of delays in detecting and addressing vulnerabilities, since a lack of visibility into threats is a known factor impeding firms from accurately reporting on risks. It allows customers to identify vulnerabilities and then immediately remediate them within a single workflow, allowing teams to efficiently identify and fix vulnerabilities within a unified platform. The result is an improved security posture, reduced operational overhead and the elimination of time-consuming communications between security and IT teams.

The vulnerability management service includes unified detection and remediation that combines vulnerability scanning with automated patching to go beyond traditional detection tools. Using the service, organizations can quickly identify and fix security risks across hundreds of business apps and macOS, with options to manually push updates or block compromised applications for greater control.

The solution also reduces complexity by eliminating the need for multiple security tools and removing costly workflow bottlenecks. Vulnerability Management leverages Apple’s Endpoint Security framework to ensure that security processes do not disrupt system performance while automatically prioritizing user tasks.

Kandji’s new offering additionally enables information technology teams to scale security efforts efficiently and involve more team members in proactive threat management. The streamlined platform simplifies operations, helping organizations enhance security while reducing operational overhead.

Vulnerability Management is the latest cybersecurity solution available to Kandji customers via its Device Management platform. The company’s suite of security solutions also includes Endpoint Detection and Response, as well as the ability to remediate vulnerabilities through Auto Apps, Custom Apps, Managed OS and app blocking with mobile device management.

Kandji is a venture capital-backed company that has raised $289 million over seven rounds, including a round of $100 million on a $850 million valuation in July. Investors in the company include  Definition Capital Management, Frontline Ventures Ltd., First Round Capital, Greycroft Partners, Felicis Ventures, Spruce House Partnership, B Capital Group US and Okta Ventures Inc.
