Cloud connectivity provider Cloudflare Inc. today announced the launch of Cloudforce One Threat Events Feed, a new service that provides real-time intelligence on cyberattacks occurring across the internet.
Based on telemetry from Cloudflare’s global network, the new feed helps security teams get more done with the same resources by spotting issues faster, responding to threats quickly and staying one step ahead of how cybercriminals operate and what systems they target.
The new feed assists in taking on the challenge of cybercriminals who regularly change tactics and find new vulnerabilities to exploit and ways to overwhelm their victims. Cloudflare argues that for organizations to keep up, they need to understand the threat landscape they face. But traditional threat intelligence feeds often lack meaningful or complete context for why a threat event was placed on the feed — similar to getting a warning without an explanation or path to resolution.
“The industry is plagued by insights that are stale or fragmented, significantly increasing organizations’ chances of falling victim to hackers,” explained Matthew Prince, co-founder and chief executive officer of Cloudflare. “Cloudflare has built one of the world’s largest global networks, which positions us to be one of the only companies that has access to the most complete and accurate threat intelligence.”
The Threat Events Feed is designed to scale effectively and maintain resilience during unpredictable spikes in cyberattack data. Security teams can access personalized threat intelligence tailored specifically to their unique environments, industries, or geographical regions and the feed also delivers actionable indicators of compromise and detailed summaries identifying threat actor groups, their methods and tactical approaches.
Through an offering of relevant and contextual insights, the feed helps security teams prioritize and respond faster to the most critical threats. The feed also delivers integrated targeted event summaries into existing cybersecurity workflows to boost efficiency, reduce the risk of false positives and improve overall threat readiness.
Using the feed, businesses can significantly improve their threat intelligence ecosystem and overall security posture by routing and integrating the right threat intelligence into cybersecurity tools, the company says.
Grant Bourzikas, chief security officer of Cloudflare, spoke with theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s live stream studio, in January, to discuss how known defense techniques are ineffective as attackers evolve novel attack tools, practices and vectors aimed squarely at the enterprise.
